How We operate

Terms and Conditions

By booking or taking lessons with Twenty8 Driving School, you automatically agree to the following terms and conditions.

1. Pupil Responsibility: All students are expected to behave responsibly and respectfully during lessons. If at any time your behaviour or attitude is considered threatening, dangerous, or compromises safety, your instructor reserves the right to end the lesson immediately and cancel any future bookings. Twenty8 Driving School and it’s instructors have a zero-tolerance policy for any form of verbal or physical abuse directed towards instructors, driving examiners, or other road users. Students must wear appropriate footwear and comfortable clothing that does not restrict movement or affect driving ability. Personal hygiene should also be maintained, as the tuition vehicle is shared by multiple students.

2. Lessons and Tests: You must inform your instructor immediately if there is any reason you cannot drive safely or legally. This includes losing your valid driving licence or being under the influence of alcohol, drugs, or prescribed medication that could impair your ability to drive. Please ensure you are medically fit to drive. If you have a medical condition that may affect your driving, consult your doctor and notify the DVLA if necessary. You must also be able to read a number plate from 20.5 metres away. Your instructor reserves the right to refuse to take you to your driving test if it is advised that you are not yet test-ready or if doing so would present a safety risk. This decision will be discussed with you in advance, along with available options. Any fines, penalties, or points incurred during a lesson are the legal responsibility of you, the student. Twenty8 Driving School is required by law to name the driver at the time of any offence; therefore, any penalties will be issued to you as the named driver.

3. Cancellations and Punctuality: All lesson fees must be paid 48 hours before or on the day of your lesson if paying by cash and agreed with by your instructor. Lessons that remain unpaid will be cancelled and offered to other students. If you cancel a lesson with less than 48 hours’ notice, the full lesson fee will be charged. However, if your instructor is able to fill your slot with another booking, you will not be charged. Please note that this is not always possible, especially for late cancellations. When your instructor arrives for your lesson, they will wait a maximum of 15 minutes. If you have not arrived or contacted your instructor within that time, the lesson will be cancelled, and you will be charged the full fee. If you arrive late, your lesson time will be reduced accordingly, and you will still be charged in full, as this is considered a partial cancellation with insufficient notice. Students are expected to have at least one two-hour lesson per month to maintain consistent progress. If more than three consecutive lessons are cancelled without valid reason, your space may be released and offered to another student. Similarly, if there is no communication for two consecutive weeks without prior notice, you will be placed back on the waiting list. If your instructor is late for your lesson, you will still receive your full session time whenever possible, or the lesson fee will be adjusted accordingly. Should a lesson need to be cancelled due to unforeseen circumstances—such as mechanical issues with the tuition vehicle, adverse weather, heavy traffic, or unavoidable personal emergencies—Twenty8 Driving School will reschedule your lesson for the next mutually convenient time.

4. Agreement: By commencing lessons with Twenty8 Driving School, you confirm that you understand and accept these Terms and Conditions in full.
